Skills and certifications that pay
Check whether employers actually pay more for it first.
New skills can raise your pay, but not every course or certificate does. A little research avoids paying for credentials employers don't value.
Before you pay for a course
- Search job postings for your next role: is the skill or certification listed?
- Compare pay ranges for postings that require it
- Ask whether your employer offers tuition or training support
- Look for free or low-cost options: community colleges, libraries, public workforce programs
